Q. Do I need a USA Cycling Race license to compete or win a Championship?

A. Yes you will need a USAC annual license to qualify for the Finals and take a Championship Title, also One Day Licenses do not receive points toward overall, you must be an USA Cycling annual license holder. Licenses can be purchased on-site for Cat 2 and Cat 3 ONLY; online access to www.usacycling.org will be provided.

Cat 1 and Pro licenses must receive an upgrade to these classes, these classes must be licensed and the license cannot be purchased on site at the venues, only from USA Cycling via a request for an upgrade to USA Cycling, here is a link to their site: www.usacycling.org

Q. Can I race on a USA Cycling “One Day License”

A. Yes, however for 2013 all 'One Day' license holders at each race will race in a “One Day Open” Men’s and Women’s category regardless of age.

Medals are awarded for the “One Day Open” race category and there is no “One Day Open” category for the overall series.

Q. How many classes will there be?

A. 19 DH Classes an official class listing is below this Q & A / Rules page scroll down to see the Class Listings.

Q. How many races are counted in the overall points?

A. 6 highest scores will be counted toward the overall series points, we will drop one missed or your lowest score this will include the series finals, which you must be present and is a double points race, you also must have 5 races minimum and be a USAC Annual License holder to qualify for a Championship because the GES is a Points Series.

Q. Who is responsible for reporting accuracy of the results?

A. All Sports Timing are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the results. The GES points manager will give a best effort to spot any errors or anomalies.

Q. Can you upgrade / downgrade classes during the series?

A. Yes. The new points structure allows you to upgrade / downgrade classes however ONLY 50% of your points carry over to the new class.

Q. How will tie breakers be broken?

A. Any tie breakers that occurs will be resolved via the results at the finals.

Q. Do I have to be at the finals?

A. To be in contingency for placing in the overall points series you must be at the finals.

Q. To whom do I report errors in the results?

A. Errors found on our results page need to be reported directly to the GES points manager whom can be reached via the contact page
